SPUNK", based on the writings of famed African-American writer Nora Zeale Hurston, 

 which will run April 11 - May 4.

 Info about the show:  

 Spunk ' is a wild, bluesy wail - three stories by the great Harlem Renaissance writer Zora Neale Hurston, adapted into a staggeringly theatrical play by George C. Wolfe, who won an Obie for its 1989 off-Broadway premiere production. A trio of vignettes of African-American life in the first half of the 20th century, 'Spunk' is a raucous, charming, blues-infused look at love, revenge, jealousy, and the fine art of the hustle.

Zora Neale Hurston released her first novel,  Jonah's Gourd Vine, in 1934. Two years later, she received a Guggenheim fellowship, which allowed her to work on what would become her most famous work:  Their Eyes Were Watching God  (1937). She is considered one of the pre-eminent writers of twentieth-century African-American literature.

Texas & Neighbors 1st Place Award

1st Place Award: Watercolor painting "Dog Tired" and Chocolate Rose floral arrangement interpretation of painting.

I am pleased to announce that I received the 1st place award in the Watercolor category at the Texas & Neighbors Regional Art Exhibit!

The 2013 exhibit revealed 79 works of art, juried by Jill Pankey from more than 500 submissions, created by artists living in the states of Texas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Arkansas and Louisiana in the 28th Texas Regional Art Exhibition presented

 by the Irving Art Association and the Irving Arts Center.

I also experienced my personal 15minutes of fame, when I was interviewed by

Irving, Texas's local television station!

Second Saturday, June 9th, the gallery will host a reception for Kristine Byars, Kim Englishbee, and Barbara Mason. These three ladies participated in our April “Art in the Making” event in conjunction with Arts in Bloom. They enjoyed their day in McKinney, and received a very favorable response from our clients. Join us in celebrating their original art during our Second Saturday Arts Reception, 7p-10p. Barb Mason will be demonstrating outside the gallery during the early part of the evening.


Byars is an accomplished artist widely exhibited in the DFW Metroplex. Her bright colors and cleverly cropped compositions give her western imagery an award-winning edge. Byars’ art will be featured on the poster of Chestnut Square’s new Cowboy Days celebration this fall.

Whether of livestock or landscapes, Englishbee’s carefully crafted paintings draw the viewer into an elegant spaciousness that grants her subject a unique preeminence.

Mason’s innovative watercolors sometimes include a literal cut edge, making her florals dimensional. (Must see in person to appreciate!) Mason’s pastels are lush, richly colored with surprising elements.

Sunday Southlake Town Hall Exhibit

Artist Reception Sunday!

Artist Reception on Sunday February 19th at 3pm in Southlake Town Hall.

This exhibit is a prelude to the
2012 Art In The Square Festival.
I will have two works of art displayed on the 2nd floor lobby
of the City of Southlake Town Hall building. This is my first year
participating in the City of Southlake Town Hall exhibit and I am very excited
to have artwork alongside such great artist as:
Gregory Arth, Betty Nash and more.
This exhibit is open to the public from
February 19, thru April 16, 2012.

@ Southlake Town Square in Southlake Texas is a spectacular 3 day event
from April 27 thru April 29th.
Friday: 4pm - 10:30pm
Saturday: 10am-10:30pm
Sunday: 11am-6pm

This year there will be approximately 145 artist and
several emerging artist exhibiting.
I am very fortunate to one of the displaying artist again this year.

the Dutch Art Gallery in Dallas Texas.
